Hi Family & Friends,
We've just had such a wonderful time with Family in Canada. It's been so great to fly to Canada to see everyone and to also see Canada in the Summer! After leaving Hawaii we flew to Calgary to spend a week with Val & Taren. It was such a blessing to stay in Bev & Roger's home in Okotoks. I can't believe how much development and building is happening there - it's like Calgary is just booming!!!
After a week in Calgary, we flew to Vanderhoof to visit Fiona & Gideon & Julian. I love Vanderhoof in the summer - it's so green, there is so much to do, and there are tons of friends that Fiona & Gideon have made. They are really happy in their community. We all took a drive up to Smithers - a small ski village - which was just incredible. We stayed in the most amazing LOG cabin, and went for hikes. Just so picturesque! Smithers has such a fun atmosphere. We also stayed on Francious Lake and had a lot of fun with Fiona & Gideon's friends who were camping nearby. Julian played so nicely with Sofia!
We then flew back to Calgary for the last week - where we also saw Cameron, who flew in from Perth. We were quite adventurous and did some camping ourselves! and Brandon just loved getting back on his Mountain Bike again and of course we can't forget how Cam and him jumped in that icy cold glacier river!
Brandon and I also managed to get a little time on our own, and we did a day trip to Morraine Lake. I've always heard how wonderful it is - and I think it's one of Fiona's favourite places in the Rockies. So we just had to go - and YES, it did not disappoint. It was incredible. Not only is the water really that amazing turquoise blue colour, but we even witnessed a small avalange on the on mountain near us, as the snow was melting!!!
After the fun in Canada - it was time to take our bags and books and fly to San Francisco, were we have a new adventure awaiting us.
